Bird and Butterfly Garden
Birds, Bees, Butterflies, and other pollinators need shelter to hide from predators, escape the elements and rear their young. Kingsbrae Garden’s Bird and Butterfly Garden has created a natural community by providing homes and shelter for these important winged members of our ecosystem. Filled with nectar and pollen-rich plants, a succession of blooming annuals, perennials and shrubs so nectar and pollen will be available throughout the growing season, the Bird and Butterfly Garden is an ideal habitat for our birds, bees and butterflies.
Many natural butterfly habitats have been lost to human activities such as home building, road construction and farming. In an effort to encourage Monarch Butterflies to thrive, Kingsbrae Garden has planted an area of milkweed in the Bird and Butterfly Garden for the larvae to feed on. Enjoy a quiet moment watching Nature work its wonder.
